Why we make a scented poop bag
Picking up after your dog is nobody's favourite part of a walk. It's the bit after that tends to be worse: carrying a tied bag for ten minutes until you find a bin, or getting a whiff of it from your coat pocket.
A scented bag doesn't change the job. It just makes that walk to the bin a bit more pleasant for you and anyone walking past. It's most noticeable when:
- you have a long walk with no bins along the way
- it's warm, when smells tend to be stronger
- you're in a busy park or on a pavement where other people are close by
- you need to hold on to the bag for a while, for example in the car on the way home from a country walk

Lavender scent
Each bag carries a light lavender fragrance. We chose lavender because most people find it clean and pleasant, and it isn't sharp or sickly the way some fragrances are.
To be clear about what it does: the scent masks odour. It sits over the smell of the waste so you notice it less. It doesn't neutralise or eliminate the odour. Tie the bag tightly and the two together will make a real difference, but no bag makes dog waste smell of nothing.
Leak-proof
The bags are designed to be leak-proof, so what goes in stays in. Tie them firmly, don't overfill, and they'll keep things contained on the way to the bin.
Extra-long
The extra length gives you more bag to work with. You can cover your hand properly while you pick up and still have plenty left over to tie a secure knot. It also helps with bigger dogs and bigger deposits.
Side gussets
The gussets are folds down each side of the bag that let it open out wider. That means a roomier opening when you're scooping, and less fiddling with a bag that won't open on a cold, wet morning.
150 bags per box
If your dog needs one bag a day, a box lasts about five months. At two bags a day it's about 75 days, roughly two and a half months. In a multi-dog household it will go faster, so keep a spare roll in the car or by the door.
What these bags are not
We'd rather be upfront than oversell, so:
- Not biodegradable or compostable. Please don't put them in a home compost bin, a garden waste bin or a food waste caddy.
- Not odour-eliminating. The lavender masks the smell. It doesn't destroy it.

How to use them
- Load your dispenser or pocket. Tear a bag off the roll. If you use a lead-clip dispenser, check its roll size first, as dispensers vary.
- Open the bag. Rub the top edge between your fingers to separate it, then open it out using the side gussets.
- Pick up. Put your hand inside the bag like a glove, pick up the waste, then turn the bag inside out over it.
- Tie it tightly. Use the extra length to tie a double knot close to the waste. The tighter the knot, the less smell escapes.
- Bin it. Use a dog waste bin, or a public litter bin if your council allows it. At home, put it in your general rubbish (black bag) bin.
A few habits that help:
- Take at least two or three bags out with you. Dogs don't always stop at one.
- Store the box somewhere cool and dry.
- Keep bags out of reach of dogs and children. They're for picking up waste, not for chewing or play.
Why picking up matters
Leaving dog mess is unpleasant for everyone who uses the same paths, parks and pavements. In most of the UK it's also an offence in public places, and you can be fined. How much depends on your council, and fines vary across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
